We consider talking about consumerism to be taboo. And at the core of it, consumerism leads to more waste.
In my project, BLOOM, I am focusing on upcycling an old dress from childhood. The dress had become too small, but the fabric was still functional. I decided to repurpose the material and create two current pieces.
Both of the garments only use ties to hold them together; it is to compliment the sentiment of childhood and hand made crafts. The tops were hand sewn and hemmed as I had no access to a sewing machine.
